Why go out and buy a print for $30.00 ~ $100.00(s) of dollars when you could have a wonderful, original art piece created by your child? (I know they are desireable, I get asked if they are for sale!) With a little thought and time your art piece will look wonderful and you will have original artwork in your home.
Here are some suggestions for framing your student’s artwork:
One of my students asked me why I said the word “notice” so much. I said because I want them to “see” with their eye and not their brain. The intellectual brain imposes previously stored data into the drawing. As an example, you want to draw a hand, the problem between what you know (intellectual, analytical) and what you see (visual, spatial) is very clear.
If you were a fly on my wall during one of my art classes, you would most likely be surprised at how quiet I like to keep my class environment. I do this for a couple of reasons, but most importantly because I like to create a space where true creativity can flourish.

The artists I'm talking to are the oil-based painters, particularly the ones whose hands wind up looking like a tie-dyed work of art after a very creative afternoon of painting.
We spend so much time every day doing things we need to do. Regardless of our age, we have our list of chores, ranging from homework and bill paying, to cleaning our homes and taking out the trash. These are all important things and deserve a certain amount of time and energy.

We are gearing up for our tenth annual Young Artist Reception and show! This year all student work will be on display at the Morgan Hill Community Center, 1700 Monterey St in Morgan Hill, CA. Family and friends are welcome to walk through the center and admire all the hard work and creative progress made throughout the year.
The show will open Tuesday evening, 3 April and run through 30 April. Feel free to come through anytime, but please be aware that the Community Center is not usually open on Mondays.
In addition to the ongoing show at the Community Center we will also be hosting a Young Artists Reception at Legacy Community Church in Los Gatos on Thursday, 29 March from 5:30pm- 7pm.
This reception is open to all students, parents, family and friends in the Los Gatos area.
