About Karen: I was very fortunate in that as a child I was allowed to make mud pies, and thus bagan my love of art. As my creativity developed my mud pies turned into bunny sculptures. The texture was delicious. Later, I dabbled in oil paints and in high school was introduced to watercolor, I loved how the paint hit the wet paper and burst out where it wanted to go! Magical! Every painting is an adventure.
As an adult, to continue developing my skills, I have had the privelege to study with local artist, Diane Wallace, and nationally recognized watercolorists Mel Stabin, Tom Lynch, and Mary Whyte.
Teaching has always been a part of my life as well. I now have over 15 years of experience teaching art to children, and have studied Early Childhood Education, Art Methods and became a licensed Monart art teacher with Mona Brooks of Monart. I currently offer classes to children and adults through my home studio, Karen's Art Zone.
