Develop the Creativity Within

Looking to find your inner artist? Anxious to assist your child in finding the creative genius inside of them?

Karen's Art Zone offers classes and programs to assist in the development of the artist in each of us.

 

Adult Drawing & Watercolor 

This class is offered in 7-week sessions. The 7-week Adult Drawing class is $84 and payable before the first class. The 7-week Adult Watercolor class is $126 and payable before the first class.

    • 2:30pm- 4:30pm 

Budding Beginners 

(ages 4 1/2 –5) 1 hour 

An introduction to representational drawing created for the attention span and motor coordination of the 4 & 5 year olds. Children master the ability to recognize and combine the elements of shape in drawing animals, characters, still life and more.
 

Art Exploration

(ages 6-8) 1 hour
A representational drawing class set in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. It begins with learning the basics and easily moves on to intermediate projects. Students will draw from 3 dimensional objects, photographs, illustrations and their imaginations.
 

Mixed Media 

(9-adult) 1 1/2 hours
An introduction to a wide variety of drawing styles and media. Projects explore plants and animals, architectural structures, perspective, and proportion. Students are encouraged to develop their own personal style. Media: Markers, colored pencils, graphite, watercolors, conte and pastels.
 

Home-Schoolers

This class is for you! Receive all the above, but choose an earlier hour for your convenience. Children will also learn about artists in history and use their work for inspiration.

Upcoming Events

10th Annual Young Artist Reception and Show

We are gearing up for our tenth annual Young Artist Reception and show! This year all student work will be on display at the Morgan Hill Community Center, 1700 Monterey St in Morgan Hill, CA. Family and friends are welcome to walk through the center and admire all the hard work and creative progress made throughout the year. 
The show will open Tuesday evening, 3 April and run through 30 April. Feel free to come through anytime, but please be aware that the Community Center is not usually open on Mondays. 

In addition to the ongoing show at the Community Center we will also be hosting a Young Artists Reception at Legacy Community Church in Los Gatos on Thursday, 29 March from 5:30pm- 7pm. 
This reception is open to all students, parents, family and friends in the Los Gatos area.

"Art Classes and Wine Glasses"

Perfect for a girls night out, date night, small party, or to give as a gift; attendants bring their favorite bottle of wine and a few good friends to create their own masterpieces in a friendly, casual learning atmosphere!

All materials are provided, including prepared canvas, paints, brushes, glasses, and hors d'oeuvres! Just bring your own beverages and your creative spirit!

No experience is necessary! At the end of each step by step class you will have your very own, take home, acrylic masterpiece!
