Wow, where do I begin? I have always been drawing or painting, but was interrupted by life. It hasn't been until recently that I have devoted my time to painting & teaching.
I fell in love with watercolor in High School, and it has never left me. It continues to challenge me in many ways. As an adult, to continue developing my skills, I have had the privilege to study with local artist, Diane Wallace, and nationally recognized watercolorists Mel Stabin, Tom Lynch, and Mary Whyte.
Teaching has always been a part of my life as well. I now have over 15 years of experience teaching art to children and adults, and have studied Early Childhood Education, Art Methods and became a licensed Monart art teacher with Mona Brooks of Monart.
I currently offer classes to children and adults through my home studio, Karen's Art Zone.
Here at Karen's Art Zone we teach the elements of art and the principles of design we also teach color mixing and perspective. Students are encouraged to develop their own creativity and explore a variety of media.
